Quick answer This Godrej AC error code list shows how the codes are grouped and what to check safely. Exact meanings change by model, so confirm in your manual or with service.

This site is not affiliated with Godrej; this is an independent explanation.

A Godrej AC error code list is only useful if you read it the right way. Owners search for E1, E3, E4, E5, F3, F5, F6, F8, H3, H6, L3, P1 and a code written as 05, and every one of them can mean something different on a different range. Godrej uses separate sheets for window, fixed speed split and inverter models, and the sheet can change between years.

So this page does not pretend to give a master table. It explains how the letters are usually grouped, which checks are safe for you, and how to describe a code to authorised service so the right part is tested first. For the single code with its own page, see Godrej AC E6.

How to fix it, step by step

  1. Photograph the code

Note exactly what is shown: letters, digits, any blinking lamps. Two different codes can look alike, such as H3 and H6 or F3 and F5.

  2. Check both breakers

If the AC's MCB or the outdoor isolator is down, raise it, then begin cooling once.

  3. Do a ten minute power reset

Hold the supply off for ten minutes before restoring it; remote presses never erase stored faults.

  4. Wash the indoor filters

Give them a clean-water rinse, shade-dry, and press them home. A clean mesh removes a frequent trigger.

  5. Clear what you can see outside

Scan the outdoor grille from a safe vantage point for covers, bags or clutter. Leave the casing closed.

  6. Look up the code in your manual

Find your model name on the label and match the code in the manual's table. If your search result lists a different meaning, trust the manual.

  7. Call authorised service with notes

Say which code, when it appears, what you tried and whether the outdoor fan runs.

Godrej AC error code list: how the letters are usually grouped

A reading guide, not a master table
Code familyTendency on most modelsYour first safe move
E1, E2Often room or coil sensor relatedReset once, then service
E3, E4, E5, E6Sensors, fans, protection or the unit link, varies a lotReset, filters, then service
F codes (F3, F5, F6, F8)Often outdoor side, inverter or board relatedReset once, clear airflow, then service
H codes (H3, H6)Protection or fan style on some rangesReset, then service
L and P codes (L3, P1)Range specific, may be protection or mode relatedRead the manual

I have left out single line meanings for each number on purpose. Where a source lists a Godrej inverter AC L3 error code or a Godrej AC P1 error code with a very sure answer, treat it as a hint only.

Window, split and inverter Godrej ACs

A window AC keeps everything in one box, so its codes mostly concern sensors, fans and power. A split has two boxes and a link, and a code may come from the outdoor half. An inverter adds drive and speed control, so its code list runs longer. Searching for the Godrej inverter AC E3 or E4 code will therefore give different answers than for a fixed speed model, and the manual for your own range is what counts.

Your split AC shows E4 one evening. The outdoor isolator was left off after a plumber's visit. Once it is on and the AC is reset, the code is gone, which is why power comes first for any family.

Codes owners search for by name

The Godrej AC E3 error code and the Godrej inverter AC E3 error code are searched most among the E series, followed by the Godrej inverter AC E4 error code and the Godrej inverter AC E1 error code. Among F codes, people look up the Godrej AC F6 error code and the Godrej AC F8 error code, and among H codes the Godrej AC H3 error code and the Godrej AC H6 error code. For each of these, the honest answer is the same: it belongs to the sensor, fan, protection, outdoor or board family for its letter, and the exact part depends on your range. Give the code and model to service rather than guessing.

Blinking lights instead of letters

Certain models have no display and flash a lamp, for example the operation or timer light. Tally the flashes in one round and compare with the manual's table; a steady lamp is just normal running, whereas a repeating burst is a fault.

What is unsafe to attempt

You can clean filters, check breakers and clear the grille. Everything else, such as sensors, wiring, boards, gas and the compressor, belongs with a trained technician.

Godrej units are not an owner's project beyond filters, breakers and the grille, and panels, boards, gas or sensor bridging bring shock risk and a lapsed warranty.

Cost, time and where to read more

Expect the lightest bills for a reset or clean filter, a bit more for a sensor, and steeper ones for boards, motors and the compressor, with cover and age moving the figure; get part names on paper. Poor cooling with no code has its own troubleshooting page, and the AC error codes hub lines up makers, or open the code list of another maker to compare habits.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Godrej AC error code list?

Godrej displays E, F, H, L and P style codes, which differ by model range. Rely on the table in your own manual, or give Godrej authorised service your model name.

What does the Godrej AC E1 error code mean?

On many ACs an E1 points to a room or coil temperature sensor, but confirm for your model in the manual.

What is the Godrej inverter AC L3 error code?

L codes are range specific. One-line meanings online are risky, so use the table for your inverter model.

Can I reset a Godrej AC error myself?

You can switch off at the MCB for ten minutes and restart once. If the code returns, a part is at fault and needs a technician.

Are F codes more serious than E codes on Godrej?

F codes often point to the outdoor or board side, which is more technician work, but this is a tendency and not a rule.

Which Godrej AC code means low gas?

Do not assume. Gas related faults are for trained technicians, and no code alone proves a leak. Ask service to test.
